The Sports Events Manager position within the Fort Worth Sports Commission is a pivotal role involving the comprehensive planning, management, and execution of high-profile sports events. The manager is responsible for developing and implementing detailed event plans including opening ceremonies, banquets, community outreach, staffing, security, and budget management. Key events under their purview include prestigious competitions such as the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships, PBR World Finals, and other national governing body events.
In addition to logistical oversight, the Sports Events Manager serves as a liaison between local organizing committees, vendors, venue partners, and sponsors, ensuring seamless communication and successful event outcomes. This role also plays a significant part in volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision, fostering a positive team culture aligned with the organization’s core values.
