The Special Events Coordinator position at Golden West College is a classified staff role dedicated to supporting the maintenance and operations department. This full-time, 12-month role is offered exclusively to current permanent and temporary employees within the Coast Community College District. The salary range for this position is between $63,066.03 and $85,025.96 annually. The coordinator will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of large-scale events such as workshops, conferences, training sessions, recruiting and alumni fairs, as well as local and regional competitions. This position requires a hands-on approach before, during, and after events, including logistics coordination, communication, and administrative support. In this role, the Special Events Coordinator will work closely with campus and district administrators to ensure smooth execution and hospitality support for various activities. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining participant lists, scheduling programs, arranging venues, and managing multimedia production along with materials such as flyers, announcements, and certificates. The role demands proficiency in graphic arts and desktop publishing to prepare high-quality promotional materials and event catalogs. Additionally, the coordinator will be involved in selecting competition criteria and managing logistics such as fees, billing, and correspondence. Candidates for this position must be skilled in organizing for large groups and multi-organization collaborations, possessing the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
