We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team and contribute to enhancing the dining experience for our residents. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to develop creative, nutritious, and appealing menus that align with the community’s vision and dietary requirements. The role is essential in creating meals that not only meet the nutritional needs of seniors but also delight them with variety and presentation. The Sous Chef is responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, including supervising kitchen staff, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards. This role requires leadership, culinary creativity, and strong organizational skills. Candidates must be able to manage inventory effectively, order supplies timely, and maintain high food quality standards throughout meal preparation. Employee training and development, particularly focusing on nutritional best practices for seniors, is also a key responsibility.   • High school diploma or GED
  • training from a culinary school
  • three to five years of proven experience as a cook or one plus years as a sous chef
  • knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, boiling
  • ability to follow all sanitation procedures

  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • excellent physical condition and stamina
