We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Highland Springs. This position plays a pivotal role in our innovative Signature Dining Programs, which focus on a la minute cooking and chef-inspired creations, delivering exceptional dining experiences tailored to the preferences and dietary needs of our senior residents. As Sous Chef, you will work alongside a committed team within state-of-the-art kitchens equipped with the latest culinary technology and tools, enabling you to execute your culinary skills at the highest standards. With a salary range of $56,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for annual bonuses up to 8%, this role offers both competitive compensation and significant career growth opportunities.
The Sous Chef will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, including staffing, food production oversight, kitchen sanitation, and utility management. The role demands leadership in scheduling, training, and disciplining culinary and utility staff, ensuring that all food preparation aligns with strict quality, safety, and dietary standards. Timely meal service for residents is a priority alongside maintaining the organization and cleanliness of all kitchen and dining areas. The position also requires flexibility to work some weekends and holidays and the physical ability to handle kitchen demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varied temperature environments.
