The role of Sous Chef at Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, offers a dynamic culinary leadership position within FISD’s K-12 school dining program. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and plays a vital role in supporting all aspects of culinary operations. The Sous Chef will assist in daily food production and preparation, contribute to menu development aligning with both culinary standards and the nutritional needs of students, and manage catering activities. Leadership responsibilities include supervising hourly kitchen associates, ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance, and maintaining high standards of kitchen organization and cleanliness. The ideal candidate is a motivated, upbeat culinary professional who has a passion for scratch cooking and a commitment to excellence in food quality and presentation. This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually and emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and continuous improvement in school dining experiences.                 - Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
 - Minimum 2 years of culinary or kitchen management experience in high-volume foodservice settings
 - Experience working with K-12 school dining or similar institutional environments preferred
 - Proven skills in catering and special event culinary management
 - Familiarity with food safety standards including HACCP and allergy management
 - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
 - Strong leadership and team supervision capabilities
