We are currently seeking to expand our team by hiring a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier who shares our vision of delivering the highest-end combined culinary and cultural experiences. As a Sommelier at City Winery, you will serve as the in-house wine and beverage expert, playing a critical role in maximizing beverage sales while providing exceptional guest service. This role is well-suited to someone with a strong fundamental knowledge of both Old and New World wine regions, winemaking techniques, producer familiarity, and vintage distinctions. While specific certifications are not mandatory, an earnest desire to advance the wine program, coupled with excellent communication skills and a willingness to educate guests and team members, is essential. Your responsibilities will include recommending wine and food pairings, educating customers about beverage selections, supporting inventory management, and ensuring that every guest’s experience is memorable and enjoyable. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, and a refined sense of organization. Additionally, you’ll be expected to stay updated on beverage offerings, maintain a well-organized wine cellar, and promote table and retail wine sales.
