The Server position for the 2026 cruising season is a vital role within our shipboard hotel and restaurant operations. This temporary employment opportunity lasts for 28 weeks and offers an engaging introduction to the cruise and hospitality industries. Servers act as ambassadors for American Cruise Lines, ensuring that guests receive outstanding hospitality and an elegant dining experience that reflects our brand’s high standards. This role involves providing attentive, personalized service throughout breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour. Servers are responsible for setting up and breaking down dining areas, managing culinary requests efficiently, and making guests feel welcome by acknowledging them by name and guiding them through menu selections. The job demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to presenting food and beverages with care and style.
We offer competitive pay ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 per week plus bonuses. With all major living expenses—including travel to and from the ship, room and board, uniforms, and paid training—covered, this is an excellent opportunity to save while gaining valuable hospitality experience. Beyond the role’s day-to-day duties, servers also contribute to additional onboard activities such as greeting guests during embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and assisting with evening entertainment. The position requires the ability to work long hours—typically 12 hours per day, seven days a week—and meet moderate physical demands. American Cruise Lines places strong emphasis on safety and professionalism, with mandatory pre-employment drug testing and grooming standards that include restrictions on visible tattoos and piercings.
Our Server role is perfectly suited for those who are optimistic, committed, and eager to immerse themselves in the cruise industry. You will join a supportive team of crew members from across the country and have the unique chance to travel across America while developing foundational skills in hospitality service. Employees who demonstrate talent and dedication have opportunities to advance within our company, though advancement is not guaranteed. American Cruise Lines is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or genetic information.
