Salt Lake City, UT, USA, UT Temporary $48,000 - $67,200
American Cruise Lines is the largest cruise company in the United States, renowned for offering unique and immersive experiences exploring America’s breathtaking rivers and coasts. Established with a commitment to showcasing the rich heritage and natural beauty of the country, American Cruise Lines prides itself on its intimate small-ship cruises that allow guests to connect deeply with each destination. With a fleet of finely maintained vessels, the company offers over 50 different itineraries spanning more than 35 states, providing a diverse range of scenic and cultural tours tailored to an array of interests. American Cruise Lines is proudly American-owned and operated, emphasizing values such as optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit, which are integral to its operation and corporate culture. For the 2026 cruising season, American Cruise Lines is hiring Servers to join their shipboard hotel and restaurant teams. This is a temporary but rewarding position lasting 28 weeks, where successful candidates will work onboard one of the company’s finest American ships. As a Server, you will play a vital role in providing guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience that reflects the company’s dedication to outstanding hospitality. The position requires performing a wide range of duties, from setting tables and arranging linens, silverware, china, and glassware, to efficiently catering to all culinary requests and ensuring that guests receive prompt, courteous service. You will also have the responsibility of greeting guests by name, escorting them to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting courses and wines, and answering questions regarding menu items with confidence and professionalism. Working as a Server on an American Cruise Lines vessel offers a unique opportunity to gain hospitality experience in the cruise industry, setting a strong foundation for a future career in this dynamic sector. The role not only involves typical restaurant duties but may also extend to greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering to evening entertainment events onboard. Wages for this role range from $1,000 to $1,400 per week, supplemented by additional bonuses. With all major living expenses — including room, board, uniforms, travel to and from the assigned vessel, and paid training — covered by the company, this is an exceptional chance to save earnings while experiencing life aboard a cruise ship. Beyond the financial benefits, the role offers the priceless opportunity to travel the country, meet new people, and establish lifelong connections with fellow crew members and guests alike. To qualify for this role, applicants must be at least 18 years old and either American citizens or Green Card holders. The nature of the work demands a high level of physical endurance, as employees must be able to work at least 12 hours per day for seven days a week during the period of up to 28 weeks. The role also involves moderate physical activities such as lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking. Adherence to grooming standards, including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings, is required to maintain the company’s professional appearance. A pre-employment drug test is mandatory under federal law and Department of Transportation regulations. The consumption of alcohol while on duty is strictly prohibited to ensure the safety and quality of service to guests. American Cruise Lines is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or genetic information. The ideal candidate will excel under pressure, maintain composure, and exhibit a positive attitude at all times. This temporary role can serve as a stepping stone to future management positions within the company, although such advancement is not guaranteed. Join American Cruise Lines in sharing America’s story on the finest American ships and embark on an unforgettable career journey aboard some of the most scenic waterways the country has to offer.
