Its services include aquatics, youth and adult sports programs, and the management of the City’s Urban Forest Program, all designed to enrich the lives of Santa Maria residents. The Building Attendant position is a limited services role offering approximately 19 hours per week. This role is essential in ensuring that various City buildings and facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming to the public. As an individual contributor, the Building Attendant performs general cleaning and custodial tasks critical to the maintenance of public spaces, thereby directly supporting the City's mission to provide residents with safe and beautiful environments. The position demands a commitment to safeguarding City facilities through duties such as cleaning restrooms, refilling dispensers, emptying waste containers, locking and unlocking doors, monitoring security systems, and preparing spaces for meetings and special events. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong customer service skills. The role requires teamwork, efficient communication, problem-solving abilities, and a positive can-do attitude. Spanish language skills are highly desirable, further enhancing communication with the diverse Santa Maria community.
