The role requires expertise in mixology with the ability to serve properly mixed and proportioned drinks efficiently to guests and servers. The successful candidate will possess excellent knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines, along with a passion for upselling and suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience. Responsibilities include maintaining the bar inventory, adhering strictly to all liquor liability laws, checking guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance, and monitoring alcohol intake to prevent overconsumption. The role is integral in fostering a positive atmosphere by engaging with guests and resolving any service issues proactively. This role demands someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment while providing courteous service and guest engagement. The position requires standing and walking for up to eight hours per shift, effective communication skills, basic computer and MICROS knowledge, physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and prior cash-handling experience. Furthermore, the individual must be able to obtain the San Diego County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certifications upon hire if not already certified. Working hours are flexible and include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, catering to the dynamic hotel environment and guest needs. The hourly wage starts at $17.95, with actual pay based on qualifications and experience.
