Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is a dedicated organization committed to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others within the Marine Corps Community. The MCCS operates as a comprehensive program that offers a wide array of services and activities designed to maintain morale, readiness, and resilience among service members and their dependents. With a staff that includes military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, and volunteers, MCCS embodies a team-oriented environment that thrives on collaboration and commitment to the mission of serving the Marine Corps. Located at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Arizona, MCCS is currently seeking qualified candidates to join their team as Sales Associates for the Marine Mart retail facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about customer service and retail operations within a unique military community setting. As a Sales Associate, candidates will play an integral role in delivering world-class customer service to Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) customers while upholding the highest standards of courtesy and professionalism. The Sales Associate will engage with customers in a variety of retail tasks, including cashiering, customer service, salesfloor and department support, stockroom and backroom management, as well as handling military clothing products. This role requires adaptability as work may occur indoors, outdoors, or in temperature-controlled environments such as coolers or chillers, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided. Sales Associates embody a proactive attitude, always striving to achieve positive customer experiences by employing an "I can do that" mindset to resolve challenges independently before seeking supervisory assistance. Key responsibilities include conducting register transactions, performing planogram revisions, identifying and replenishing missing products, setting promotional signage, and participating in visual merchandising to maintain an attractive and inviting store environment. Additionally, associates uphold operational standards through participation in inventory processes, adherence to loss prevention practices, and maintenance through the 5S program. Light housekeeping is also a part of daily duties, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness of the retail area. Sales Associates receive ongoing support and mentorship from Specialist roles and supervisors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Proficiency with retail equipment such as cash registers, RF scanners, mobile printers, and signage tools is essential. The position may require additional training or certifications, including food safety or fuel handling, depending on business needs. For those assigned at gas station locations, duties may extend to fuel lane maintenance and hazardous material handling, strictly following safety protocols. Candidates should bring at least one year of experience in customer and sales-focused roles, with cash handling and basic math skills strongly preferred. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with a commitment to sales goals and attention to detail is critical for success. This role demands physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance. MCCS provides a supportive work culture ensuring equal opportunity and reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. Employment is contingent upon successful background checks and compliance with federal regulations, including Selective Service registration where applicable. The organization maintains a drug-free workplace and adheres to the Department of Navy's policies on workplace discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. Joining MCCS as a Sales Associate offers a rewarding avenue to contribute to the Marine Corps community by facilitating an excellent retail experience that supports the day-to-day needs of Marines and their families. Applicants are encouraged to apply online through the MCCS Careers website, ensuring submission of all required documents such as education certificates, military records, or spousal preference documentation where applicable. This role embodies the spirit of service and teamwork vital to the Marine Corps mission while offering stable employment in a dynamic retail environment.
