The Position: Food and food service delivery drivers are integral to the food supply chain, ensuring that products are delivered promptly, safely, and in excellent condition. This role involves driving both tractor trailers and straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) deliveries, shuttle routes, and overnight shifts. Drivers are tasked with the safe transport and delivery of food-related products to various customers, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and company safety policies. Drivers must also perform safety inspections of their vehicles, manage freight securely, and handle all required paperwork meticulously. Beyond transportation responsibilities, drivers are the face of Performance Foodservice to customers and vendors, tasked with maintaining professionalism and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely deliveries and effective communication. The role offers competitive pay with an average salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one, which comprises medical benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and other incentives such as a $10,000 sign-on bonus (subject to eligibility). This position typically involves working 4 to 5 days per week with shifts starting between 11 PM and 3 AM. • 12 months commercial driving experience
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent
• Valid CDL A
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
• Must be 21 years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
