The General Manager position at Pei Wei Asian Kitchen is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall operational success of a designated restaurant. This role requires a dynamic individual who can lead the management team and hourly employees to achieve outstanding guest satisfaction, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and drive sales and profitability. The General Manager oversees daily operations with an emphasis on maintaining the brand's established standards, including recipe adherence and front-of-the-house excellence. In this role, the General Manager acts as a key liaison between the restaurant and local community, serving as a goodwill ambassador while executing company initiatives and fostering a positive employee experience. The position demands expertise in multiple areas such as food safety, budget management, employee training, conflict resolution, and team building. By leveraging performance management tools, the General Manager ensures all staff members are continually developing and meeting or exceeding performance expectations. Furthermore, this role includes responsibility for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new talent, ensuring a motivated workforce capable of meeting the restaurant's operational challenges. The General Manager must be certified in both culinary and front-of-house operations specific to Pei Wei Asian Kitchen and perform daily duties to model standards of excellence. Effective scheduling, cost control, marketing strategy implementation, and facilities maintenance are also key components of the role. This position demands a strong leader who embraces change, displays emotional intelligence, and effectively manages conflict and employee relations to maintain a collaborative, productive work environment. With hands-on involvement in daily administrative tasks such as payroll, cash handling, and vendor relations, the General Manager plays a pivotal role in both the strategic growth and smooth day-to-day functioning of their restaurant. The ideal candidate will bring significant prior experience in restaurant management, preferably in a general management capacity.
