The position of Night Shift Traffic Control Technician II at RoadSafe is a critical role focused on establishing and maintaining safe traffic control zones during night hours. This non-exempt role is vital in safeguarding workers and the traveling public by setting up lane closures, redirecting traffic, and enforcing safety protocols on state highways and various roadways. The technician will operate specialized company vehicles such as Management of Traffic (MOT) and Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicles to protect work zones effectively. Responsibilities also include assembling, delivering, and retrieving safety products at job sites in accordance with contractor instructions. 
This role requires a high level of autonomy as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with traffic control crews as needed. The Night Shift Traffic Control Technician II must be vigilant in monitoring work zones to ensure all safety measures remain properly positioned throughout shifts. This includes placing temporary construction signs, arrow boards, variable message boards, traffic cones, delineators, and other safety devices. The technician will also be responsible for basic shop maintenance and repair of equipment to maintain operational readiness. 
Ideal candidates will possess a valid driver’s license and have one to three years of relevant traffic control experience with at least 2,000 field hours. Successful candidates must pass thorough background and drug tests and meet federal Department of Transportation requirements. The role demands physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment up to 70 pounds and the flexibility to travel statewide, occasionally requiring overnight stays and availability to work nights, weekends, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Completion of the ATSSA Traffic Control Technician intermediate training course is mandatory. A mechanical background or experience is preferred, facilitating better understanding and maintenance of vehicles and equipment used in the field.
