The organization also operates a Hospice Thrift Store, which plays a critical role in supporting the Hospice mission by generating funds through the sale of donated goods and offering an engaging community shopping experience. The Thrift Store Cashier is an integral part of the retail team, tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the store’s front end. This role supports both the Store Manager and Store Supervisor by managing customer transactions efficiently and courteously, providing information on shopping and donation procedures, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the retail environment. The Cashier acts as the initial point of contact for customers, making interpersonal skills and attention to detail especially important. This part-time or full-time position, depending on operational needs, offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $19.30 plus additional compensation based on experience.
Beyond cashier duties, the role involves active stock management including tagging, pricing, and organizing merchandise. The Cashier also assists with the physical aspects of the store such as unloading donations, moving products between areas, and maintaining the store’s visual appeal. Commitment to upholding the store’s values, supporting the overall mission of Tahoe Forest Hospice, and working collaboratively with the team are essential.
