The Guest Services Agent (GSA) is a vital member of the Sonesta team, directly representing the hotel brand and serving as the first point of contact for all arriving guests. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless check-in experience, addressing guest inquiries efficiently, and contributing to overall hotel operations. As a front desk specialist, the GSA is responsible for managing guest reservations, issuing room keys, processing payment transactions, and maintaining confidentiality and security of guest information. Additionally, the position supports the Operations Manager and plays an important role in facilitating smooth communication between shifts and departments. The ideal candidate will embody Sonesta’s service standards, known as the G.U.E.S.T. standards, which emphasize guest satisfaction, unity, engagement, service quality, and teamwork. This position requires a proactive and courteous individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities including booking reservations, upselling room options to maximize hotel revenue, ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations, and assisting with guest requests promptly. The GSA also oversees the management of guest safe-deposit boxes and supports other hotel services such as the on-site shop and beverage offerings, adhering strictly to laws related to alcoholic beverage sales.   • one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
  • previous background from the extended stay industry preferred
  • ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • professional verbal and written communication skills
  • mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred
