As a Barback at this hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the bars operating within the property meet both guest expectations and the companys sustainability standards. This role involves engaging directly with guests by greeting them and supporting bartenders by maintaining well-stocked and orderly bar stations. Attention to detail is vital as you check inventory against orders and assist in preparing garnishes and perishable items essential for drink service. The position demands a commitment to cleanliness and adherence to health code standards in various bar and storage areas, supporting the overall guest experience. You will also be responsible for logistical tasks such as transporting ice and beer kegs, maintaining beer taps, and boxing empty liquor bottles for returns, all while following the hotels sustainability guidelines connected to HHMs EarthView program. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to practice safe work habits, utilize protective equipment, and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. This position offers a clear career progression path, moving from Food Runner to Server, then to Bartender, allowing you to develop your skills and grow within the hospitality industry. The work schedule is dynamic, often involving weekends, holidays, and alternative shifts.
