The role being offered is a critical position within the Aircraft Maintenance Training Team, supporting F-35 maintenance activities across a wide spectrum of field operations. This team operates at various F-35 operating locations both within the United States and internationally—underscoring the global scale and strategic importance of the position. The Aircraft Maintenance Training Team oversees on-the-job trainers, ensuring that the development and review of maintenance curricula and lesson plans are timely and adhere to stringent regulatory standards. This ensures that the personnel responsible for maintaining the F-35 fleet are impeccably trained and fully capable of sustaining the aircraft's operational readiness and safety standards.
As a member of this team, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and managing maintenance operations compliant with DCMA 8210.1C/D and other applicable service guidance across all F-35 variants. You will collaborate directly with military personnel, Lockheed Martin colleagues, and foreign partners to ensure continuous updates to maintenance training programs, ensuring they reflect current operational requirements and directives. Your responsibilities will encompass managing aircraft and engine maintenance activities, guaranteeing aircraft readiness and safety for flight. You will also lead integrated maintenance teams drawn from a diverse workforce that includes military staff, government civil service members, and employees from Lockheed Martin’s partners such as Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, and BAE Systems.
The ideal candidate will bring years of hands-on experience in aviation maintenance, especially with F-35 aircraft systems, combined with proven leadership and instructional skills. This role demands an individual who not only understands the technical intricacies of fighter aircraft systems and maintenance practices used by the USAF, USN, and USMC but also possesses the ability to manage complex schedules, resource allocation, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. - Must be a US citizen
- Minimum of 10 years experience in aviation maintenance
- Minimum of 4 years of F-35 maintenance experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a trainer or instructor role
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- At least 2 years experience with the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
- Working knowledge of various maintenance and logistics programs
- Experience with training records and curriculum planning
- Experience with USAF, USN, USMC maintenance practices
- Interim Secret Security Clearance required and ability to obtain Final Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to work part-time remote and on-site at a Lockheed Martin facility
- Must be willing to work a standard 40-hour workweek
- US citizen for security clearance purposes
- Strong communication and leadership abilities preferred
