The Day Prep/Baker team member role at The Angus Barn is integral to the preparation and execution of the restaurant's high standard menu items. This position involves the mixing, cooking, and baking of numerous menu items needed for daily service, including but not limited to desserts such as pies and cheesecakes, homemade crackers, sauces, salad dressings, appetizers, and catering event offerings. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that all food preparation tasks are completed with precision, care, and adherence to quality assurance guidelines. In this role, team members will manage inventory by obtaining supplies and ingredients required to meet par levels, which fluctuate according to seasonal trends and daily demand. Duties will include washing, cutting, slicing, measuring, and mixing or kneading dough, either by hand or with industrial appliances, all while practicing responsible use of food ingredients and equipment to minimize waste and prevent abuse. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment before, during, and after the shift is essential to overall food safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong personal hygiene, positive work attitude, flexibility in scheduling, and a cooperative spirit to work well with others. Physical stamina for standing and moving for up to 8 hours per shift, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, is necessary. The role demands staying on the job until all preparations for upcoming service periods or days ahead are fully completed.
