The Cook/Assistant Chef position at Fort Bend HealthCare Center plays a vital role in the Nutrition Services department, ensuring that patient meals are prepared according to authorized menus accurately and in a timely manner. This part-time role requires an individual who is meticulous about food preparation, sanitation, and compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations. The incumbent will work within a sanitized environment, adhering strictly to guidelines that promote health and safety for both patients and staff. Beyond regular meal preparation duties, this position involves maintaining proper labeling, inventory control, and assisting with special dietary needs and snacks as directed by the Nutrition Services Director or Chef. The Cook/Assistant Chef contributes significantly to patient care by ensuring meals meet quality, nutritional, and safety standards, and by supporting overall operational efficiency in the kitchen. This role demands detail orientation, teamwork, and the ability to oversee and train new staff members when assigned.
