The pastry chef position is a part-time role within this esteemed establishment, offering an exciting opportunity to work closely with Chef Joseph Leonardi, CMC, AAC, one of only 72 Certified Master Chefs in the country. This role involves preparing and baking a variety of desserts including cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, and other pastries following established recipes and standards. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and mentorship from a top culinary professional while contributing to the daily operations of the pastry kitchen.
As a Pastry Chef at St Andrews Country Club, the individual will be responsible for producing high-quality baked and non-baked goods, ensuring that all items meet the club’s standards for taste, presentation, and freshness. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in handling dessert preparation, decoration, and plating to fulfill restaurant and banquet orders accurately and attractively. The pastry chef must also maintain cleanliness and sanitation of their workspace, adhere to health and safety regulations, and manage inventory by stocking necessary supplies.
The job also emphasizes communication with the Lead Pastry Chef, Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs to coordinate daily production needs and special requests. The candidate will be expected to complete opening and closing checklists, uphold product freshness, and support the overall kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for members and guests.
