NAS is currently looking to hire dedicated Building Maintenance Cleaners for its operations at Manchester Airport (MHT). This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic upkeep of the airport facilities, ensuring that all areas — including rooms, offices, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, jet bridges, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and game rooms — are thoroughly cleaned and maintained. The Building Maintenance Cleaner is responsible for janitorial functions performed primarily during the third shift, and candidates must have availability to work this shift. The role involves a variety of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waxing floors, dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metalwork, cleaning carpets and upholstery, washing walls and windows, replenishing bathroom supplies, and replacing light bulbs. The position may also require occasional operation of equipment like golf carts or vans and use of specialized cleaning materials and machines. To be successful in this role, candidates must be physically capable of lifting and moving weights up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing other physical tasks required in cleaning and maintenance. The Building Maintenance Cleaner must also be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as airports operate continuously and demand flexible scheduling. The role requires securing appropriate airport authority and U.S. Customs security badges if applicable, along with passing FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to secure airport areas. A valid driver’s license may be necessary depending on the requirements of the airport authority for equipment or vehicle operation. • High school education or GED
• 3 years of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• must have third shift availability
• able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily
• able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges if applicable

• willing to work overtime on short notice in emergencies or when operationally necessary
