The General Manager role at Oak View Group is a critical leadership position responsible for the overall efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the assigned OVG360 venue. This leadership role not only involves managing the day-to-day business operations of the venue but also focuses on soliciting new revenue opportunities both on and off the venue property. The General Manager oversees all aspects of venue management including construction coordination, booking, marketing, finance, food and beverage services, premium experiences, box office operations, advertising, security, production, maintenance, purchasing, policy administration, and related operations especially for arena and complex environments.
The General Manager develops, coordinates, and manages all strategies related to arena and theater entertainment events, working closely with corporate teams, clients, and local stakeholders to maximize venue usage and profitability. This position demands strong leadership with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence. It offers an annual salary in the range of $225,000 to $250,000 and is bonus eligible, reflecting the importance and complexity of the role.
This role is located at the new Mobile Arena, a state-of-the-art 10,000 capacity venue situated in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Scheduled to open in early 2027, this arena is set to become a central hub for a variety of major events including minor league hockey, concerts, family shows, regional and national sports, community gatherings, and Mardi Gras celebrations. The venue features a wide range of premium seating options such as suites, clubs, and loge boxes alongside over 27,000 square feet of multi-purpose and pre-event space, making it a versatile and attractive location for diverse events.
Along with the Mobile Arena, Oak View Group also manages the Saenger Theater and the Mobile Convention Center. The Saenger Theater seats 1,900 guests and hosts over 70,000 patrons annually, serving as home to the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and a variety of national touring acts. The Mobile Convention Center is a premier 317,000 square foot facility with sixteen meeting rooms, two ballrooms, and two exhibit halls totaling 100,000 square feet, situated along the picturesque Mobile River. This award-winning venue is known for its beautiful waterfront views and exceptional architecture.
The General Manager will be instrumental in managing these facilities effectively, ensuring their operational success, maintaining steady revenue growth, and reinforcing the venues’ reputations for excellence. The position also requires a significant commitment to working evening and weekend hours to support the live events schedule. - Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management or related field
