The Manager on Duty (MOD) plays a crucial leadership role during the evening shift, overseeing all hotel operations and ensuring seamless service and safety throughout the premises. The Manager on Duty is responsible for managing all hotel operations during the evening shift hours, with a primary focus on the Front Office department along with other critical areas such as Drivers, Housekeeping/Laundry, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage departments. This role ensures adherence to the hotel's established standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining a high-quality, service-oriented environment. As the acting manager in the absence of the Front Office Manager, the MOD handles guest complaints, problem resolution, disturbances, special requests, and any operational issues that arise during the shift. Key responsibilities include managing night shift employees, coordinating front office activities with other departments, communicating VIP arrivals and group bookings to staff, and ensuring special requests are fulfilled. The position requires active participation in budgeting, payroll, scheduling, training, coaching, and compliance with safety and emergency procedures. The MOD works closely with other department heads to improve guest services, enhance cross-department collaboration, and enforce financial controls to manage operating expenses. The role also requires vigilance related to hotel security, including regular inspections of rooms and public areas, monitoring for suspicious activities, and ensuring staff are trained and prepared for emergencies. This managerial position is part of the hotel's emergency response team responsible for implementing fire-life safety protocols and maintaining a safe environment for guests and associates. The Manager on Duty must be available to work second shifts, weekends, and holidays, adapting to variations in shift times and operational demands. Effective communication, leadership, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills are essential for this role. The MOD must be capable of handling conflict situations with patience, tact, and diplomacy to ensure positive guest experiences while maintaining operational efficiency.   • Prior hotel experience required
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
