The Management Analyst position at the Palo Alto Airport is an essential role designed to support the Airport Manager in overseeing all facets of airport administration, finance, and operations. This position is responsible for developing and monitoring both operating and capital improvement budgets that ensure the financial sustainability of the Airport Fund. The Management Analyst prepares Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations for Bid (IFBs) to facilitate procurement processes and contracts for airport projects and services. The role also involves drafting airport policies and procedures that ensure compliance with a range of regulatory requirements, including those from local, state, and federal agencies.
In addition to financial and regulatory responsibilities, the Management Analyst supervises administrative staff, providing leadership, performance evaluations, and training to ensure high functionality and efficiency. Collaboration with key airport stakeholders, such as fixed-base operators and control tower personnel, is crucial to maintain smooth daily operations and effective communication throughout the facility. The Management Analyst may also support or oversee operations staff, ensuring that all airport activities align with organizational goals and community standards.
Careful analysis and monitoring of expenses and revenues are fundamental to this role to maintain fiscal responsibility and support strategic planning. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience with enterprise budgeting and accounting, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of grant funding principles and compliance requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
