Allyn International is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Logistics Specialist to join their Houston, TX office. This full-time salaried exempt position offers an entry-level opportunity with a competitive compensation package ranging from $48,000 to $50,000 annually. The role follows a standard 40-hour workweek from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend, after-hours support, and on-call rotations. The work environment consists mainly of office cubicles where the Logistics Specialist will spend their time sitting, typing, walking, and talking on the phone. This position is ideal for recent graduates who are looking to launch their careers in logistics and supply chain management within a reputable firm. The Logistics Specialist will be entrusted with coordinating and managing the transportation and distribution processes of goods both domestically and internationally. Close collaboration with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers is essential to ensure the timely delivery of products. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate records of inventory and shipments, monitoring and analyzing logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that optimize logistics processes. The Logistics Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, minimizing risk exposure for both Allyn and its customers, and handling freight claims efficiently. This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
