Halekulani is a prestigious hotel located on legendary Waikiki Beach, renowned for over 100 years of gracious hospitality, impeccable service, and unparalleled cuisine. The establishment is rooted deeply in its legacy, which celebrates the rich cultural history and traditions of the Hawaiian islands. As a luxury resort, Halekulani caters primarily to discerning guests who seek an exceptional and authentic experience that fuses traditional Hawaiian values with world-class amenities and comfort. Employees at Halekulani and its associated property, Halepuna Waikiki, are dedicated to living this legacy every day through the 'art of service,' ensuring that guests receive personalized, attentive, and respectful interactions throughout their stay. The hotel prides itself on maintaining an environment that upholds the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and cultural reverence. This role, Server at La Mer restaurant within Halekulani, offers a unique opportunity to be an integral member of a fine dining team committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Server is responsible for a variety of tasks, including taking food and beverage orders, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and maintaining a welcoming and clean dining environment. This position requires thorough knowledge of the menu, beverages, and service standards to meet the expectations of high-end clientele. The Server not only performs routine duties like taking orders and serving but also anticipates guest needs, addresses complaints to ensure guest satisfaction, utilizes suggestive selling techniques, and supports seamless communication between guests and the kitchen. Working in a refined setting, the Server must also demonstrate mastery of wine service, including knowledge of wine descriptions and opening bottles according to departmental standards. Familiarity with hospitality software systems such as point-of-sale (P.O.S.) is essential to ensure efficient order input and processing. The position at La Mer is ideal for individuals with previous fine dining experience who are passionate about providing a polished and memorable dining experience. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and comport themselves according to the dress code and service standards of the restaurant. Additionally, Servers take on responsibilities in preparing service stations, setting tables, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout their shifts. This role requires working collaboratively with other team members and guiding any assigned assistant staff to optimize service delivery. Halekulani values detailed knowledge and adherence to industry standards, such as state liquor laws and safety protocols, which are critical for maintaining the safe and legal service of alcoholic beverages. The work environment is indoors, air-conditioned but may also include exposure to outdoor weather conditions given the hotel's tropical location in Hawaii. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, lift moderately heavy items, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor throughout extended shifts. Joining the Halekulani team offers individuals a chance to be part of a historic and esteemed brand recognized for excellence in hospitality. The Server role at La Mer combines opportunities for career growth, interaction with diverse guest profiles, and participation in a company culture deeply committed to legacy, service, and cultural celebration.
