Kitchen Leaders are responsible for ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards, whether grilling meats or sautéing vegetables, all while adhering to Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy. They play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance and food inventory management. In addition to overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, Kitchen Leaders are tasked with fostering a strong team dynamic between the back-of-house and front-of-house crew members, serving as role models who train and develop crew members into future leaders. This position requires a hands-on approach where leaders are actively engaged on their feet, managing stations, and collaborating with teammates to meet preparation and service goals efficiently. Beyond technical skills, Kitchen Leaders help to shape the customer experience through effective communication and leadership. They ensure that all safety, sanitation, and operational procedures are followed meticulously to create a safe working environment free from injuries or accidents. They also handle critical documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and inventory rotation following the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principle to uphold food safety and quality. The salary for this position ranges from $21.25 to $23.65 per hour, with additional compensation available through digital tips.
