The role of a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club is critical to the smooth operation of the pharmacy and the safety and satisfaction of members. This position involves processing member purchases by operating cash registers and handling various payment methods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The Pharmacy Technician also plays an essential role in maintaining the pharmacy's merchandise presentation by stocking, rotating, and organizing products while removing damaged or outdated items to uphold quality standards. In addition, the technician supports the prescription fulfillment process by managing third-party insurance claims, alerting patients to inventory issues, and assisting pharmacists in various operational tasks. They enter prescription data into pharmacy software with precision, fill prescriptions by preparing medications according to prescribed instructions, and assist members during prescription pickups by verifying information and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. The Pharmacy Technician must also adhere to company policies and safety protocols, contributing to a safe work environment.
