The role of Front Desk Receptionist at Millennium Surgical Center is vital in maintaining smooth, effective communication and operational flow. This full-time position is central to the facility's daily functions, serving as the primary point of contact between patients, physicians, families, and the surgical center’s staff both over the phone and in person. The Front Desk Receptionist ensures that all individuals are greeted warmly and assisted promptly, managing incoming calls, scheduling, patient check-ins, and other clerical activities. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask efficiently, supporting various departments such as admissions, pre-op nursing, and scheduling. Specific responsibilities include operating the telephone system to field and direct calls appropriately, handling messages, and identifying the nature of business communications. The receptionist distributes mail and messages, monitors office supplies, and manages the postage meter, contributing to the administrative efficiency of the center. They assist with chart preparation and patient admissions by checking in pre-op patients, copying identification and insurance documents, and liaising with pre-op nursing staff to ensure seamless patient transitions. Additionally, the receptionist is responsible for collecting patient financial responsibilities as determined through insurance verification, and providing back-up assistance to other administrative roles as needed. This position offers an hourly wage ranging between $19.00 and $21.00, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
