The position available is for a Kitchen Manager within the Campus Operations team at Uplift Heights Preparatory. This role is vital to the daily functioning of the campus's child nutrition program, which supports student health and wellness by providing nutritious meals that meet state and federal guidelines. As the Kitchen Manager, the individual will be responsible for supervising, training, and managing the campus child nutrition staff while overseeing the operation and financial accountability of the kitchen. This supervisory role demands a high level of organizational skills and a thorough understanding of food service management, including production, inventory control, and personnel management. Attention to compliance is crucial for this role, as the Kitchen Manager must ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations governing food safety and public health. This includes compliance with Child Nutrition Program (CNP) standards and USDA/TDA meal pattern requirements. The Kitchen Manager will manage the preparation and serving of appropriate food quantities, maintain food storage safety, monitor equipment conditions, and oversee daily kitchen operations. Effective cost control practices such as inventory management, waste reduction, and theft prevention are key responsibilities to preserve resources and maximize the profitability of the campus nutrition program. Another important aspect of this role is fostering a positive working environment through effective communication and leadership. The Kitchen Manager will handle employee scheduling, coaching, conflict resolution, hiring, and termination processes. They will also coordinate safety trainings and facilitate clear communication lines among kitchen staff, other campus personnel, and parents. This role requires a hands-on approach, occasionally assisting with cooking, delivering, cleaning, and serving as necessary to maintain smooth kitchen operations.   • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1 year experience in school food service or food service management
  • Must have or obtain Servsafe Kitchen Manager's Certification within 20 days of hire
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software
  • Ability to handle physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to kitchen environmental factors
  • Must pass a criminal records check
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization
