This full-time or part-time non-exempt role involves responsibilities such as reviewing daily orders, preparing and replenishing baked goods efficiently and courteously, and interacting with customers to respond to their needs promptly and professionally. The role requires teamwork, punctuality, and adherence to store policies and sanitation standards. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Bakery Department Manager and collaborate with store managers and other team members across departments to maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked bakery section. You are expected to greet customers warmly, assist with locating products, take special orders, and ensure the products meet Hy-Vee's high standards for freshness and presentation. Secondary duties include ordering bakery supplies, washing dishes, pricing products, and supporting other store areas as needed. The work environment is fast-paced, with some physical demands such as lifting and moving bakery items and exposure to flour dust and temperature changes typical of bakery settings.
