The role of Housekeeper aboard American Cruise Lines' vessels is a vital part of the shipboard hotel team, responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for passengers. This is a temporary, seasonal position for the 2026 cruise season, offering employment for 28 weeks. Housekeepers serve as proud representatives of the American Cruise Lines brand, ensuring that all staterooms, public spaces, and facilities are impeccably maintained according to the company’s high standards.
In this role, housekeepers will work diligently to provide outstanding hospitality, focusing on guest comfort and cleanliness. They will engage with guests in a warm and professional manner, acknowledging them by name and responding promptly to housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests. The responsibilities include daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, organizing inventory, stocking linens and supplies, and properly maintaining upholstered furniture and lounges. Housekeepers are also tasked with managing spills and notifying managers for maintenance requirements, collecting and disposing of trash, and ensuring all areas on the ship remain safe and attractive for guests.
Beyond the routine housekeeping duties, housekeepers may also be involved in additional activities that enhance the guest experience, such as greeting guests during embarkation, assisting at special events like afternoon tea and snacks, and participating in evening cocktail parties. - At least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to company policies
- Must commit to the full 28-week seasonal assignment
