The role of Maintenance Technician at The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort is a full-time, non-management position focused on maintaining the resort's high standards through effective maintenance and repair of hotel facilities and equipment. This essential role involves responding promptly to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, conducting visual inspections, and ensuring all equipment and tools operate efficiently. The Maintenance Technician will have a broad range of responsibilities, including maintaining mechanical rooms, plumbing, electrical systems, and landscaping, as well as carrying out surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs. The technician must demonstrate familiarity or the ability to learn about air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical systems, and various building maintenance tasks. Critical to this position is excellent communication with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues quickly and professionally. The technician will use approved communication methods to report daily activities and any problems encountered during shifts, emphasizing safety compliance by adhering to company safety policies, utilizing Lockout/Tagout systems, and managing flammable materials appropriately. This role requires physical stamina, as lifting, moving, and navigating stairs or ladders is common, ensuring all activities meet Marriott's quality standards. Candidates ideally possess some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior preparation, and painting, with a preference for hotel engineering or maintenance backgrounds. Educationally, a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and a valid Driver’s License are required. While supervisory experience is not mandatory, a commitment to teamwork, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality, and supporting a positive work environment is essential.
