The Kitchen Cook Lead role at CAPTEK Softgel International is an integral position within the gummy production team. This leadership role encompasses overseeing the preparation of gummy formulations through precise mixing, blending, and cooking processes, as stipulated in the Master Manufacturing Record (MMR). The Kitchen Cook Lead ensures strict adherence to production specifications and quality standards, working closely with machine operators to verify ingredient accuracy and order of addition. This position involves guiding and mentoring kitchen cooks, coordinating with the warehouse and weigh and dispense teams to ensure timely staging of materials, and maintaining meticulous documentation through batch production records (PBR).
In this role, you will be vital in maintaining consistency in product quality, ensuring reproducible manufacturing results that satisfy customer expectations. You will be responsible for following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), enforcing food safety protocols including HACCP, and supporting quality investigations. The Kitchen Cook Lead must be proactive in equipment troubleshooting and involved in maintenance and calibration activities. This role requires strong communication skills to provide shift passdown information and manage scheduling activities to optimize kitchen workflow, breaks, and lunch periods.

                - Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
 - previous food, pharmaceutical, and/or dietary supplement production and manufacturing experience
 - ability to follow cGMPs and food safety protocols
 - basic understanding of equipment operation and troubleshooting
 - capability to read and adhere to Master Manufacturing Records
 - competency in using production tools such as pH meters, temperature probes, and scales
 - strong communication skills for shift coordination and guidance
 - ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
 - willingness to complete required corporate and job specific training
