The role being offered is a Front Desk Agent position, a critical part of the hotel’s guest services team. The primary responsibility of this role is to create a positive first and lasting impression by performing guest check-in and check-out processes efficiently and professionally. Successful candidates will handle guest registrations, room assignments, and the issuance of room keys, providing courteous and accurate information on hotel services, accommodations, and local area attractions. This role requires excellent interpersonal communication skills to manage guest inquiries about dining, shopping, entertainment, and travel directions. Additionally, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for maintaining detailed records of room availability and guest accounts, including processing payments, billing, and posting charges such as those related to food, beverages, or telephone use. The position demands strong organizational skills to handle messages, mail, and ensure that hotel credit policies and cash handling procedures are strictly adhered to. A proactive approach to guest relations, including assisting with special requests such as restaurant and transportation bookings, is essential. This part-time role also includes opportunities for leadership, such as supervising other front desk employees in the absence of the Department Manager and assigning work to ensure smooth operations. The ability to multitask and switch between various duties throughout a shift is vital to maintaining high service standards.
