The role of the Restaurant General Manager is integral to the ongoing success of the establishment. This position is responsible for creating a culture that embodies the company's core values and vision. The General Manager oversees all daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that every aspect of the business, including food quality, employee performance, customer satisfaction, and financial management, aligns with company standards. This leadership role reports directly to the District Manager and is pivotal in shaping the restaurant's operational policies and guest experiences.
The Restaurant General Manager will be managing employee recruitment, training, development, and performance management to build a motivated and effective team. They will be responsible for supervising inventory management, ordering food supplies, and controlling costs to maximize profitability while maintaining quality. The General Manager must ensure food safety by adhering to ServSafe certification guidelines and uphold strict sanitation and health regulations. Guest satisfaction is paramount; therefore, the manager handles complaints promptly and implements strategies to enhance the dining experience. Operational duties also include maintaining safe working environments, managing shifts, planning schedules, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
Furthermore, the Restaurant General Manager is accountable for conducting regular audits, maintaining accurate financial records, enforcing company policies, and fostering positive relationships among staff to promote a productive and harmonious workplace. This position requires a commitment to working long and flexible hours, including busy periods and weekend shifts, to meet the demands of the restaurant and ensure its continued success.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or relevant field preferred
- minimum of 3 years’ experience in restaurant management
- ServSafe certification required
- solid knowledge of health and safety regulations
