The role of General Manager of Food & Beverage is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Regional Manager or Regional Vice President, managing all food and beverage activities within the Van Andel Arena, Acrisure Amphitheater, and Amway Stadium facilities. This salaried and exempt role involves working within established policies to achieve financial, strategic, and service objectives aligning with corporate goals. The General Manager is responsible for maintaining strong client relations and providing operational leadership in all aspects of food and beverage management. The role requires overseeing budget reviews, approvals, and monitoring to maintain cost control and efficiency in facility operations, including food sales analysis and labor cost management. This position requires direct management of food and beverage sales projections, budgets, and event operations to ensure client satisfaction. The General Manager will develop and implement operational standards to uphold the highest service quality across assigned facilities and will represent Legends Global in business development activities including client acquisition, contract negotiations, proposal development, and sales presentations. Additionally, the role demands coordination with financial and internal staff services and maintaining compliance with state and local health laws as well as internal regulations to ensure top-tier cost and quality control standards. Key responsibilities also include the development and management of operating and marketing financial plans, day-to-day operational oversight, contract approvals, and handling communications and directives from internal and external stakeholders. The General Manager advises on staffing plans in collaboration with Human Resources, ensuring personnel administration and plant operation comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Evaluating and improving facility practices to meet client and operational needs, managing recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of administrative and supervisory staff, and establishing effective relationships with tenants, employees, union representatives, and the public are essential components of the role. The ideal candidate must handle confidential information, foster cooperation among diverse stakeholder groups, and apply their knowledge of entertainment or convention facility management principles. The role requires problem anticipation and immediate corrective action, effective performance under pressure, and expertise in event solicitation, public relations, advertising, media relations, safety regulations, and hospitality standards specific to the meeting, convention, and entertainment industry. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related fields, or equivalent education and experience. Experience with contract negotiation, business law, purchasing procedures, personnel supervision, and labor relations including union contracts is required. Proficiency with basic computer skills including spreadsheets and word processing is helpful. The General Manager will be based onsite at Grand Rapids, MI, overseeing operations at Van Andel Arena, Acrisure Amphitheater, and Amway Stadium.
