We are currently seeking a full-time daytime porter/custodian to join our maintenance team at a higher education school in Palatka. This role requires cleaning and maintaining facilities five days a week during daytime hours. The ideal candidate will have reliable transportation to and from the job site and be ready to contribute positively to our customer’s environment by ensuring cleanliness and safety throughout the premises. The role is designed for individuals who are hardworking, dependable, and comfortable working at a fast pace with a multi-tasked workload. Importance is placed on having a team member who can arrive on time, be respectful to coworkers and clients, and represent the company well by wearing a uniform and maintaining a professional demeanor. The porter/custodian is tasked with performing comprehensive cleaning duties using ServiceMaster’s proven methods, products, and equipment to achieve optimal results. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, restroom sanitation, window cleaning, and dusting. Inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment is also an important part of this role to support operational efficiency. The position demands physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, push, kneel, twist, and reach throughout the workday. The candidate should be capable of lifting or carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. We provide on-the-job training for motivated candidates who bring a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
