Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, this full-time hourly position is integral to the smooth operation of food service events, particularly at the Wilmington Convention Center. The Supervisor oversees daily operations during assigned shifts, leading both part-time and temporary Banquet Servers with a focus on exceptional guest service. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, monitoring event services, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and ambiance. The role demands active interaction with guests, ensuring their needs are met courteously and efficiently, coupled with the delegation and supervision of banquet staff to guarantee quality service delivery.
Further, the Supervisor assists in coordinating with executive chefs to review and implement banquet event orders, participates in pre-function meetings for staff briefing, and ensures adherence to client specifications for event setups. Handling guest and employee concerns, overseeing product presentation, and executing post-event duties such as maintaining consumption records and paperwork are essential elements of this role. The position also encompasses supervisory responsibilities, such as employee hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary coordination with Human Resources. In the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager, the Supervisor assumes full managerial duties.
This position offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. The work environment requires physical stamina, the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to food and beverage safety certifications within six months of employment.
