The company is currently seeking a reliable and competent Route Driver to handle the transportation duties essential for the smooth distribution of their products, particularly tortillas, to various grocery stores. This is a full-time, on-site position where punctuality, reliability, and adherence to schedules are critical. The Route Driver will be instrumental in maintaining Ole's commitment to quality and timely deliveries, joining the team to support the significant logistical operations behind the company’s product distribution. Responsibilities include managing assigned routes efficiently, performing daily vehicle inspections, loading and unloading products, and maintaining accurate travel and work logs. Experience with handheld devices and printers for creating invoices and credits is essential, alongside familiarity with direct store delivery (DSD) systems to grocery stores including both chains and independent stores. This role is perfect for individuals who have an understanding of transport logistics within the food distribution industry and who enjoy hands-on work such as vehicle maintenance and merchandising. The Route Driver is expected to deliver products safely and on time, interacting professionally with clients, and promptly reporting any incidents or maintenance needs related to their assigned vehicle. Given the nature of the role, local geographical knowledge and the ability to use navigation aids like GPS and maps effectively are important. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are considered a strong advantage given the company’s cultural roots and customer base. This position is not remote or hybrid and requires consistent presence and engagement in the field, underscoring the fundamental role of direct contact and physical handling in the company's distribution process.
