The role of Guest Service Agent (GSA) at our hotel is a dynamic and integral part of the front office operations. GSAs serve as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out procedures while delivering courteous and professional service. This position demands a multifaceted approach as GSAs are expected to handle front desk responsibilities, operate the PBX system, and perform concierge duties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, effective communication abilities, and a strong capacity to multitask and manage stressful situations calmly. Responsibilities encompass verifying reservations, processing guest registrations, posting charges accurately to guest accounts, and coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure room readiness. GSAs also engage in sales techniques by promoting hotel services and accommodation upgrades. The role is customer-facing, requiring the ability to anticipate guest needs, resolve issues promptly, and represent the hotel positively throughout the guest's stay. Training will be provided covering front office procedures, concierge services such as making restaurant reservations and recommending local attractions, as well as proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling protocols. Proficiency with computer systems, including the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS) and standard office software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. This role suits candidates with at least one year of experience in customer service or related fields such as hospitality, food and beverage, or administrative roles and requires a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. In this part-time role, GSAs will be expected to wear the hotel uniform and adhere to established appearance standards. Emotional intelligence is critical for this position, as maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure, handling guest interactions with empathy, and demonstrating a positive attitude are vital to successful performance. This position also demands standing or walking for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
