The Sales & Catering Coordinator role at Pelican Grand Beach Resort is an integral part of the sales and events team. This dynamic position involves providing administrative support to the sales and catering department in organizing, planning, and managing various events and catering services. The ideal candidate will excel in attention to detail, customer service, financial management, organization, and problem-solving. This role requires the ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks, coordinate with diverse teams, and improve operational processes. As the Sales & Catering Coordinator, you will act as a pivotal point of contact during the absence of sales managers, ensuring continuity in client communications and flawless event execution.
Key responsibilities include managing catering and group event turnovers and file setups, ensuring banquet event orders (BEOs) are completed within required timelines, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal departments. The role involves managing reservations, updating event schedules, assisting in financial processes such as managing the checkbook and invoices, and supporting marketing initiatives including social media content alongside the Regional Marketing Director. Additionally, the coordinator will handle gift certificates and help maintain a comprehensive archive of photography and permissions from weddings hosted at the resort.

                - 2 years related food and beverage and/or hotel hospitality work experience
 - HS graduate a must
 - some college preferred
 - minimum of 5 years excellent Microsoft and Windows computer skills
 - Canva and Excel a plus
 - must be personable with an outgoing personality
 - must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
 - requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
 - ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively
 - must be able to pass a background check
 - must be legally eligible to work in the United States
