The Dietary Worker role at TMH is a vital position within the Food Service Department, responsible for supporting daily meal service operations in the hospital setting. This role involves a variety of dietary functions that ensure hygienic and efficient food delivery to patients and staff. The Dietary Worker performs general sanitation duties across the department, maintaining cleanliness and safety in all related areas. Responsibilities include working in the dish room where the dietary worker operates and cleans dishwashing machines and related equipment, floor cleaning using mopping, scrubbing, or floor machines, and trash and recyclables removal from the kitchen. Additionally, this role entails transporting food via truck or cart to various hospital areas, delivering patient meal carts to floors, and completing special cleaning assignments for structural surfaces and kitchen equipment. The role emphasizes compliance with food safety protocols and safe storage of pots, pans, utensils, and stocked food items. This position may also include some driving duties associated with transporting food items between TMH locations, requiring a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record. Preferred candidates will have experience related to janitorial work, supply stocking, utility roles, warehouse logistics, or customer service within retail, food service, hospitality, or healthcare settings. While a high school diploma or GED is preferred, no prior professional experience is required for consideration. Working under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, the Dietary Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational standards of TMH's food service, contributing to patient satisfaction and the hospital's overall mission of delivering high-quality medical care with compassion and professionalism.
