The Food Service Dishwasher role within Dining and Retail Services is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the dishroom and dining areas. This regular university staff position provides essential support to daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. The dishwasher works closely with student employees, student managers, and limited term staff to uphold high standards in food handling and workspace hygiene.
This position requires operating dishwashing machinery and related equipment, cleaning and maintaining kitchen tools and work areas, organizing inventory stockrooms and warehouses, and assisting in setting up for dining events by moving equipment and furniture as needed. The Food Service Dishwasher also plays an important role in training and guiding student employees, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
The role demands weekend and evening availability, with tentative working hours from Tuesday through Saturday. Compensation for this position ranges from $15 to $17 per hour, reflecting the university’s commitment to fair employee remuneration. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a professional food service environment and demonstrates a strong understanding of sanitation procedures, safe food handling, and customer service principles.
