As a Food Runner, you are the essential link between the chefs and the front-of-house staff, tasked with the accurate and timely delivery of food menu items while ensuring detailed knowledge of all dishes to describe them accurately to guests. The position involves active interaction with guests and collaboration with servers and kitchen staff to maintain a seamless flow of service. Beyond just food delivery, the role requires thorough familiarity with service standards such as table setups, beverage service, and pre-busing procedures. The Food Runner is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, including polishing glassware and silverware, stocking side stations, and supporting the restaurant servers as needed.
