Job Summary

We are seeking energetic, compassionate, and safety-conscious individuals to join our Inflight Team as Flight Attendants. In this role, you are the primary safety professional onboard the aircraft. While our customers love us for our snacks and jokes, your main mission is to ensure the safety and security of every soul on board. You will manage the cabin environment, respond to medical emergencies, and provide the warm Hospitality that keeps our customers coming back.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Safety & Security: You must maintain a high degree of situational awareness. Duties include performing pre-flight safety checks of emergency equipment, conducting passenger safety briefings, and ensuring compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. You must be prepared to handle cabin depressurization, turbulence, fire fighting, and evacuation procedures.
  • Customer Experience: Deliver Southwest's legendary Customer Service. This includes greeting passengers during boarding, assisting with carry-on luggage (while adhering to safety limits), and serving beverages and snacks with a smile. You are empowered to make decisions that resolve Customer issues in the moment.
  • Operational Efficiency: Southwest is known for our quick turnarounds. You will actively participate in tidying the cabin between flights, crossing seatbelts, and restocking galley supplies to ensure an on-time departure.
  • Medical Response: utilizing training to handle in-flight medical events, including CPR, AED usage, and basic first aid, while coordinating with the flight deck and ground-based medical support.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with the Pilots and Operations Agents to ensure a safe flight. Communication and collaboration are key to maintaining our schedule and safety standards.

  • ProfitSharing: We share our success with our People.
  • Travel Privileges: Unlimited space-available travel for you and eligible dependents on Southwest, plus generous ZED fare agreements with other airlines.
  • 401(k): Dollar-for-dollar match up to a specific percentage.
  • Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Casual Uniforms: Wear our comfortable, signature uniform pieces.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Ability to attend a 4-week rigorous training program at our Headquarters (unpaid, but lodging/meals provided).
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, reach overhead bins, and fit into a jumpseat harness.
