Job Summary

While not a flying position, the Flight Operations Scheduler is the critical support system for our "Flight Attendants of Cargo" (Loadmasters) and Pilots. In this role, you act as the ground-based attendant to the crew's needs. You are responsible for constructing, modifying, and maintaining the monthly schedules for our flight crew members in accordance with FAA regulations and union contracts. You ensure that every flight is legally staffed and that our crew members have the support they need while traveling the globe.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Schedule Optimization: Utilize advanced crew management software to build efficient flight pairings. You must balance the needs of the network with the quality of life for our crew members, ensuring adequate rest and legal compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a deep understanding of FAR 117 (Flight Time Duty Time) regulations. You will monitor crew legality in real-time, making adjustments for delays, weather diversions, or maintenance issues to prevent violations.
  • Crisis Management: When weather hits or aircraft go mechanical, you are the problem solver. You will re-route crews, call in reserve pilots or loadmasters, and coordinate hotel and transport logistics for displaced crew members.
  • Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members regarding their schedules. You will answer questions, approve time-off requests, and provide concierge-level support to crew members facing logistical challenges downline.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arrange commercial deadhead flights to position crew members to their aircraft. You ensure that our pilots and loadmasters get to where they need to be, safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in airline crew scheduling or dispatch.
