Pratt & Whitney (P&W) is a renowned aerospace manufacturer specializing in the design, manufacture, and servicing of aircraft engines. The company is recognized globally for its innovation and leadership in developing cutting-edge propulsion systems that power both commercial and military aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a part of RTX Corporation, a premier aerospace and defense company. The firm has a rich history of pushing the boundaries of technology to deliver reliable and efficient engines that meet the rigorous demands of modern aviation. At its Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) location in Ohio, Pratt & Whitney operates as a pivotal center for sustaining and managing F-35 Lightning II fighter jet engines under the Joint Program Office (JPO) Lightning Sustainment Center (LSC) via the Fleet Readiness & Sustainment (FR&S) Team. This role of F135 On-site Fleet and Asset Manager is a dynamic, onsite position with significant responsibility in aircraft engine fleet management and asset logistics at WPAFB. Serving as a direct liaison to the JPO LSC Customer, the manager leads a team of approximately six professionals responsible for the availability, readiness, and optimization of the F135 engine assets. This engine is among the most advanced fighter engines globally, and the role demands a deep integration of fleet sustainment efforts across cross-functional teams both inside and outside the organization. The candidate will coordinate closely with various departments such as supply chain, maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless alignment with customer expectations and mission readiness goals. The position not only encompasses leadership of asset management activities including spare engine distribution, repairable asset pipeline management, and supply forecasting but also plays a strategic part in sustainment program management involving maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade processes. As a key player in the global operations center, the manager supports daily management and resolution of issues impacting engine availability and readiness, maintaining close communication with industry and government stakeholders. Qualified applicants should be prepared to work onsite full-time, handling the logistical challenges of operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment that directly supports military readiness. This role requires U.S. citizenship for clearance eligibility, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level Department of Defense security clearance. The salary range for the role is $124,000 to $250,000 annually, reflecting the seniority and expertise required. Pratt & Whitney provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and employee development programs. This position offers a vital opportunity to contribute to aerospace innovation while playing a critical role in the operational success of a premier defense program.
