The Omni Dallas Convention Center is currently seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join its team of culinary professionals. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and creativity of the hotel's pastry and baked goods offerings across all outlets and banquets. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for directing and coordinating the preparation of pastries and baked goods, ensuring consistency, creativity, and exceptional presentation. Key responsibilities include interviewing and hiring pastry staff, scheduling associate production work, controlling food costs and payroll, and managing the purchasing of baking supplies. In addition to routine bakery production, the Pastry Chef will handle special requests, including crafting wedding cakes for social functions and coordinating VIP amenities and lobby activations. This position demands strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure, solve problems effectively, and maintain a professional business appearance and demeanor at all times. The role also requires physical stamina, with the ability to stand or walk for long shifts and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
